The purpose of an Accident Investigation Board is to produce a publicly releasable report. Under the authority delegated to him by the commander of the Air Force Special Operations Command, the vice commander convened an AIB to investigate the April 9, 2010, CV-22B aircraft accident near Qalat, Afghanistan. The AIB completed a detailed investigation in an attempt to determine the cause of the accident. The AIB report is released here in its entirety, but some portions are redacted for security and privacy reasons.
